Tony O’Hanlon is an astronomy enthusiast and speaker who gives astronomy talks and presentations at clubs, libraries, festivals, and public events around Ireland. His presentations are geared toward both beginners and general audiences, using images and explanations to make astronomy engaging and accessible.

He delivers talks such as “Astronomy for Beginners”, covering topics from constellation recognition to broader insights into the universe. He has spoken at events connected with Irish Astronomy Week in libraries like Scariff, discussing subjects such as the Sun – our nearest star and how stars are born and behave. He’s also been featured in astronomy club talks, for example on “V1: The Star That Changed the Universe”, recounting the life and work of astronomer Edwin Hubble.
During Astronomy Week he will be presenting two private talks in Ennis and Shannon libraries to 5th and 6th class pupils from local secondary schools with a topic covering our Sun, Planets, Moons and minor bodies.
