From Irish Skies to Distant Galaxies: An Astrophotographers Journey
Marty McCormack is an astrophotographer based in Dublin while also a prominent member of the Irish Astronomical Society. He captures and shares deep-sky images of astronomical objects. Marty also gives presentations about astrophotography. For example, he was featured in “Capture The Cosmos – Exploring the Night Sky through Astrophotography”, a talk held at Drogheda Library in March 2025, introducing audiences to astrophotography techniques and exploring the night sky.
In the DIAS “Reach for the Stars” astrophotography competition, Marty won first place in the Deep Sky – Out of the World category, recognizing his skills in capturing deep-space objects.
