Carlow Astronomy Club Observing Event
Nestled between the Blackstairs Mountains and Brandon Hill in south Carlow lies St Mullins Village, a tranquil and historic place where St Moling established a monastery in the 7th century. Born in 614 AD, St Moling was a prince who became renowned as a poet, artist, craftsman, and priest. Under the patronage of Máedóc (Aidan) of Ferns, he founded his monastery at St Mullins, creating a centre of learning and spirituality that endures in local history to this day.
Carlow Astronomy Club will be holding a public observing evening, where members of the public will have the opportunity to look through a variety of club telescopes and explore the wonders of the night sky. Objects on view will include:

✨ Star clusters, nebulae, and distant galaxies
- Weather Permitting
